Sept. 23 — A petition calling for the closing of all landfills and waste incinerators in the next five years is headed for the White House.
If the petition gets 5,000 signatures by Oct. 22, the Obama administration will review it and respond.
The petition is on We the People, a new feature on whitehouse.gov that allows citizens to create petitions.
