Happy Earth Day 2011!

Earth Day was first held on April 22, 1970 when it was founded by US Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in.  Over 20 million people participated in the United States in the first Earth Day in 1970.  Today, April 22 is known as International Mother Earth Day, with over 500 million people in 175 countries participating.
You can find some Earth Day events you can attend or participate in to help make a difference this year on the EPA’s website or on the Earth Day Network’s website.
